My hobbies
I made my first afgan in 1971 when I was pregnant with my first child.  Needless to say, I was hooked.  That afghan is still being used today.  The afgans that I have given away have become heirlooms for those families.

I like to crochet because I find it to be relaxing and it is better than just doing nothing while watching a little television.

What I am going to do here is show you some of my creations that you can purchase.  You will notice that many of the afghans are made from grannie squares.  That is my favorite because it gives a home a more warm and inviting feeling.  It also will keep you really warm in the winter.
This afghan is 40'X40' and suitable for a baby.  Many babies use this past their second birthday and some even use it for a lap blanket when they get older.   Two pounds of yarn go into the making of this baby afghan and it will keep your precious toasty all winter.

Another one of my hobbies is Geneology Research.  This has been an ongoing project for the last several years.  So far I have found that I have a family that has over 1,000 individuals.  While researching I have found such interesting facts like my father came here on a cruise ship called the Batory out of Poland in 1937.  I have found census reports that put my ancestors in Chicago and Pennsylvania.  I have even found immigration records and ship manifests that give me the names of ancestors that they were going to live with in the United States and the ancestor that they were leaving behind.

Geneology Research has been a rewarding and enlightening hobby for me and I am glad that I decided years ago to find out everything that I can about my family.  This history is something that I am telling my grandchildren because I do not want them to not know where their roots come from.

This is an endeavor that I feel every family should try.  There are many great sites on the web that you can use.  Try it, you might like it.

My favorite yarn to use is the Caron brand but I will use Lion Brand, TLC and  Red Heart.  If you like the style but would like a different color please go to the Caron website http://www.shopcaron.com/One-Pound_c_6-1-3.html and pick the colors you would like.   Put the color description in the comments box.   There will be an extra charge of $5.00 for special orders.  Also, please allow 7 - 14 days for delivery.  It can be sooner.  It depends on how many people want to stay warm this winter season.
These two afghans are a one of a kind.  The top is an octagon shape made from various yarn ends that I had.  It took around 4 pounds of yarn to make.  The size of this afghan is 68'X72'

Below is made with navy blue to connect the squares and no two squares are the same in the true tradition of the granny square afghans.  This one took approximately 4 pounds of yarn.   This afghan is 66'X68'
This one was a special order that was never picked up.  It is the colors of some college and I do not remember the name.  It is made with navy blue and the closest I could come to a gold.  Approximately 4 pounds of yarn went to make this afghan.  If you like the style but would like different colors just tell me the colors in the comments box.   This afghan is 54'X88'
This blanket is for the rainbow lovers in your life.  It will fit across the top of a twin size bed with ease.  This was made with approximately 3 pounds of yarn.    The size is 46'X62'
This afghan is 40'X70" and is great to put on the couch or it will make a nice accent to the top of a twin bed besides keeping you warm at night.  Three pounds of yarn went into the making of this afghan.  With higher utility costs why turn up the heat when you can snuggle under this afghan.
